Dr. Idama, Omokaro

Profile

Engr. Dr. Omokaro Idama is the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering at Southern Delta University, Ozoro, Delta State, Nigeria, where he serves as a Lecturer I. He is an accomplished academic, researcher, and professional engineer with extensive expertise in Computer Engineering, Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Software Engineering, and Intelligent Systems. He is committed to advancing engineering education through innovative teaching, impactful research, and the development of technology-driven solutions to contemporary societal and industrial challenges. Dr. Idama has an impressive research portfolio, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in reputable national and international journals covering smart systems, wireless communications, embedded technologies, sustainable engineering, intelligent automation, and renewable energy applications. His multidisciplinary research continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of engineering knowledge and technological innovation. As Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, Dr. Idama provides strategic academic and administrative leadership aimed at fostering excellence in teaching, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. He is dedicated to mentoring students and young researchers, promoting collaborative research, strengthening industry partnerships, and ensuring that graduates are equipped with the technical competence, professional ethics, and problem-solving skills required to excel in the rapidly evolving global digital economy.
