Dr. Odegwo , ifeanyi James
Profile
Academic Profile I am a researcher with a strong interest in the integration of Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things within the healthcare sector, with particular focus on cardiovascular disease monitoring and patient-centered healthcare solutions. My Ph.D. research is centered on the design and development of wearable healthcare devices aimed at improving patient care through real-time health monitoring and intelligent data analysis. My research explores the application of biomedical sensors for the acquisition and processing of vital health parameters. In the course of this work, I utilize the ESP8266 microcontroller unit (MCU) as the core hardware platform, programmed using Arduino IDE and C language for efficient embedded system implementation. The integration of AI techniques with IoT-enabled wearable systems is intended to support early detection, continuous monitoring, and improved management of cardiovascular conditions. In addition, my academic interest extends to the development of community-based healthcare systems that connect patients in remote or underserved areas with professional medical practitioners through real-time communication protocols. This research aims to bridge healthcare accessibility gaps by leveraging smart technologies to enable timely medical intervention, remote patient monitoring, and improved healthcare delivery. My broader research interests include: 1. Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare 2. Internet of Things (IoT) Applications 3. Wearable Healthcare Devices 4. Cardiovascular Disease Monitoring 5. Biomedical Sensors and Embedded Systems 6. Remote Patient Monitoring Systems 7. Telemedicine and Community Healthcare Solutions 8. Real-Time Healthcare Communication Protocols 9. Embedded Programming using Arduino IDE and C Language Through my research, I seek to contribute to the advancement of intelligent healthcare technologies that improve quality of life, enhance healthcare accessibility, and support proactive patient care in both urban and remote communities.
